Storm Damage Roof Inspection in Houston, TX
After hail or high wind, find out what your roof actually needs.
We inspect your roof, photograph what we find and give you a written report and estimate. Free, and with no obligation.
Just had a storm? Here’s what to do first.
You don’t need to know whether your roof is damaged. That’s what the inspection is for. Start with these four steps.
Stay off the roof
A roof can be slippery and unsafe after a storm. Leave it for the inspection.
Look from the ground
Check for shingles in the yard, debris on the roof, or dents in gutters and vents.
Check inside
Look for new ceiling stains or drips. If water is coming in, move belongings away and catch the drip.
Take photos and contact us
Photograph what you see, then call or send the photos on WhatsApp and we’ll schedule a free inspection.
Signs worth having inspected
Any of these after hail or high wind is a good reason to have the roof looked at up close.
Shingles in the yard
Pieces of shingle, ridge caps or flashing on the ground after the storm.
Missing or lifted shingles
Bare spots on the roof, or shingle edges that are raised or folded back.
A new leak or ceiling stain
Water spots, drips or damp insulation that weren’t there before.
Granules in the gutters
Shingle granules washing down and collecting in gutters and downspouts.
Dents in metal
Dented gutters, downspouts, vents or other metal on and around the roof.
Debris on the roof
Branches or other debris that landed on the roof during the storm.
Not seeing anything? Storm damage is not always visible from the ground. An inspection is how you find out, and if we don’t find damage, we tell you.
What hail and wind can do to a roof
Hail and wind tend to leave different kinds of damage. Some of it is easy to spot, and some only shows up close.
Hail can leave
- Bruised or cracked shingles, often hard to see from the ground
- Shingles losing granules, which then collect in the gutters
- Dents in gutters, downspouts, vents and flashing
- Damage spread across several areas of the roof
High wind can leave
- Shingles that are lifted, creased or torn off
- Exposed underlayment where shingles are missing
- Loose or bent flashing and ridge caps
- Debris or fallen branches on the roof
A photo from the ground can’t tell you the cause. During the inspection we look at the roof up close and document what we find with photos.
What we inspect and document
We check the roof, gutters and fence at no cost, photograph what we find and put it in writing.
Shingles and ridge caps
Missing, lifted, creased, cracked or bruised shingles, and granule loss.
Flashing, vents and pipe boots
Around chimneys, walls, valleys and every penetration, and how each one is sealed.
Gutters and downspouts
Dents, damage, and granules collecting from the roof.
Decking, where relevant
Signs of soft or damaged decking under problem areas.
Your fence
If the storm hit the fence too, we look at it during the same visit.

Storm damage questions from Houston homeowners
How much does a storm damage inspection cost?
Nothing. The inspection is free and there’s no obligation. You get a written report with photos and a detailed estimate.
How soon after a storm should I get my roof inspected?
As soon as it’s safe. A small opening can turn into a leak and interior damage months later, so it’s better to know early. If water is already coming in, call us at (346) 535-5265.
Can I tell if my roof has storm damage from the ground?
Sometimes, like when shingles are missing. But bruised shingles, granule loss and loose flashing are easy to miss from the street. That’s why we inspect the roof up close.
Do I need a new roof after a storm?
Not necessarily. If the damage is in one area, a roof repair is usually enough. If it covers several areas, we’ll explain why a replacement may make more sense, with the photos to show you.
Will my insurance cover the damage?
Your insurance company decides what is covered under your policy. We can’t tell you what your policy covers. What we give you is the documentation: photos, a written report and a roofing estimate.
Can you be there when the insurance adjuster inspects the roof?
Yes. As your contractor, we can be at the property during their inspection to point out the damage we documented. We are not public adjusters, and we don’t negotiate or settle claims.
My roof is leaking right now. What should I do?
Move your belongings away from the water, catch the drip, stay off the roof and take photos. Then call us or send the photos on WhatsApp so we can schedule an inspection.
